Jennifer A. Powers

Jennifer Powers is a highly accomplished attorney with a proven ability to negotiate complex real estate and finance transactions.

Jennifer has worked in the Tampa Bay market for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Haile Shaw & Pfaffenberger, she managed her own successful lending law boutique law firm for more than 12 years. Prior to that, Jennifer worked with one of the state’s largest law firms in its real estate and finance practice group.

Throughout her long career, Jennifer has acquired extensive experience representing major institutional lenders. Her work includes transactions in maritime lending, mezzanine financing, multi-state financing transactions, real estate, SBA loans, asset based loans, factoring agreements, securitized loans and syndicated loan transactions.

Jennifer also handles other types of financial transactions such as purchase and sale contracts, loan restructuring, modifications and work-outs, foreclosures as well as construction and real estate development matters.

Jennifer earned her law degree, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law and a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Florida State University. She has presented a number of seminars on real estate and financial topics.

Jennifer is certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO) to close SBA loans, representing both or either of the interim and/or third party lenders.

Jennifer is a member of the Florida Bar Association and its Real Property, Probate and Trust Section. She also is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the St. Lucie County Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law before the Florida Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Beyond the Law

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her three daughters, ages 14, 7 and 3. Her youngest daughter, Piper, was diagnosed with Stage 4 germ cell cancer at age 2 and is currently in remission. Piper’s Peeps was formed to increase awareness of childhood cancer and treatments, and to raise money and provide financial assistance to other families in need during diagnosis and treatment of pediatric cancers.
