Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs. One thing both men have in common is they are admired by Matt Turko who would have loved to have dinner with Einstein. And he considers Jobs to be a technology hero. Matt also would have been an expert at helping them plan their wills and estates.
Matt focuses his practice on estate planning, federal income and estate tax issues, and probate and trust administration. His practice encompasses the creation of basic estate plans, including wills and revocable trusts, to the creation of sophisticated estate plans, including dynasty trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), and family limited partnerships (FLPs). He also advises clients on Florida residency planning with a particular emphasis on changing residency from New York and Connecticut.
In addition to assisting clients with trust and estate and tax matters, Matt assists clients with the sale and purchase of real estate, and serves as a stock transfer agent for several cooperative association apartment buildings in Palm Beach.
If that’s not enough, Matt also advises non-resident aliens on U.S. gift, estate and income taxes. He’s also advised U.S. citizen and resident clients on their U.S. income tax obligations regarding foreign assets and has assisted U.S. citizen and resident clients in navigating the IRS Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Programs.
What is the best advice Matt has ever received?
“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”
