Susan concentrates her practice in the areas of estate and trust litigation, securities litigation/arbitration, commercial litigation and appeals. She is a certified Florida Supreme Court Mediator and is available to mediate any commercial matter that is tried in the Circuit and Civil courts of Florida.

Susan has handled a wide array of litigation, including golf course design and construction litigation, securities arbitrations, probate and trust litigation involving will contests and the removal and surcharge of trustees, shareholder disputes, non-compete agreements, contract disputes, and real estate commission disputes.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. She is a 1985 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Law and a 1982 graduate of Boston University, where she obtained her baccalaureate degree, magna cum laude.

Prior to joining Haile Shaw & Pfaffenberger, Susan served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable James H. Walden at the Fourth District Court of Appeal in Florida. She is a member of the Florida and Colorado Bars, as well as the American Bar Association. Susan has been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.

In 2010, Susan was nominated for the Athena Award in recognition of her commitment to public service and the advancement of women. She also is a graduate of Leadership West Palm Beach, Class of 2010. Susan volunteers as a mentor and guardian ad litem, participates in fundraising for Little Smiles, and spends time with College Summit, a program that helps high school students go to college.

Beyond the Law

Susan enjoys cycling and adventure travel to exotic destinations, such as Nepal, India and Vietnam. In 1993, she took a six-month sabbatical to travel around the world.
